Larnaka is home to some of Cyprus’s most exciting underwater attractions, offering divers the opportunity to explore three remarkable shipwrecks: Elpida, Lambousa, and LEF1. All three wrecks are located at the end of Larnaka’s main touristic area, very close to the hotel, making them easily accessible and ideal for organized diving excursions.
The Elpida Wreck, a 63-meter former cargo ship intentionally sunk in 2019, rests at depths between 10 and 30 meters. Its impressive size, open corridors, and engine room make it a favorite site for wreck diving and advanced diver training. Over time, it has developed into a thriving artificial reef, attracting a wide range of marine life.
Close by lies the Lambousa Wreck, a smaller vessel submerged to enhance the marine ecosystem and provide a calm, rewarding dive experience. It is well suited for intermediate divers and offers excellent visibility and growing marine activity.
The LEF1 Wreck completes the trio. Positioned at shallower depths, it is ideal for beginner divers and training dives, combining easy navigation with rich underwater scenery.
Together, these wrecks reflect Larnaca’s commitment to sustainable marine tourism, blending accessibility, adventure, and environmental preservation.
